This is not a painting you enter from the top. The eye settles at the bottom first, drawn by the soft pooling of cream and sage at the lower edge, then rises slowly — unhurried, exactly as she intended.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eWhat the eye finds as it moves upward is a canvas that refuses to resolve. A line begins and dissolves into nothing. A passage of warm coral softens at its edges until it becomes indistinguishable from the peach ground beneath it. Loose floral suggestions — the gold loop at the upper left, the green and teal curves at center — hint at form without committing to it. At the top edge, brushstrokes lead the eye clean off the canvas, releasing it softly into open air rather than returning it inward. There are no anchors here, no corner marks holding the composition contained.
